上海市护理学会是护理科技工作者的学术性群众组织，是上海市科学技术协会的组成部分，由上海市卫生局主管，接受中华护理学会业务指导。

    上海市护理学会的任务是：积极开展国内外学术交流、组织重点课题的探讨和科学考察活动，加强同国内外护理团体和护理科技工作者的友好联系；组织出版护理学术资料；大力普及推广护理科技知识；开展对会员的继续教育，举办各种培训班、讲习班或进修班，努力提高会员的学术水平，繁荣护理事业、出人才、出成果。发动会员对国家重要的护理技术政策和有关问题发挥咨询作用。积极提出合理化建议；接受有关部门委托进行科技项目论证、科技成果鉴定、科技文献的编审。反映会员的意见和呼声、维护他们的正当权益。

    上海市护理学会的目标是：充分发挥护理科学技术的重要社会力量作用，充分发挥学术交流的主渠道作用，充分发挥科普工作的主力军作用，充分发挥国际民间科技交流主要代表作用，充分发挥“科技工作者之家”的作用。

Shanghai Nursing Society

Shanghai Nursing Society, as part of Shanghai Science and Technology Association, is a non-official professional organization of nurses and other nursing scientific workers. The Society is administratively superintended by Shanghai Public Health Bureau and professionally directed by China Nursing Society.

The tenet of Shanghai Nursing Society is to reinforce the “double-hundred” policy, flourish the nursing enterprise, train more competent nursing professional and make more  achievements. The task of Shanghai Nursing Society is to expand domestic and international academic exchanges positively, organize research and investigational activities on key projects and strengthen friendly relationships with domestic and international nursing bodies and nursing scientific workers; organize publication of nursing scientific data; disseminate and generalize nursing scientific knowledge; conduct continuing education among the society members by holding various training programs, seminars and classes so as to raise the professional levels, and discover talented persons and recommend them to relevant departments; mobilize the society members to offer counseling ideas and rational suggestions concerning China’s important nursing strategies and issues; accept consignment evaluation of scientific projects, examination of scientific achievements, edition of scientific papers and nursing literature, and recommend and award distinctive scientific papers, monographs and popular science works; feedback cries and suggestions of the society members as a means of protecting their justified rights and interests. The goal of Shanghai Nursing Society is to bring into full play the social function of nursing science and technology, serve truly as the true main channel for academic exchange, work as the main force of spreading popular science, play the representative role in non-official international scientific exchange, and function as the “home of scientific workers”.

   上海成人教育进修学院创办于1996年7月，是经教委批准的社会力量办学机构，行政上从属于上海市教育委员会，由上海成人教育协会主管。现任学院院长是原上海市教育卫生办公室副主任、上海市成教委副主任，现上海市成教协会会长。学院主要为上海国际化城市多种类型的人才需求开展了多种层次的教育培训。

    2002年初，由美国CGFNS机构确定在中国北京设立海外护士资格认证考试考点后，上海成人教育进修学院协同美国相关机构、上海护理学会三家组建美国CGFNS资格认证考试及RN的培训项目，旨在提升上海护理队伍的国际化水平和参与国际交流。当美国CGFNS机构有意在中国大陆设立考试中心，本学院于2001年底，着手组织RN/CGFNS培训专家，他们分别由国内著名医科大学医学英语教授，英美著名医学院学成归国的专业教授，以及在美从业二十多年的资深护理教师，开展对CGFNS和相关的RN教材收集、分析、研究，制定出适应国内护士现有水平为起点的培训计划。首批学员经过内、外、儿、妇、精神五大系统一年的专业培训和综合训练，完全达到在一分钟的规定时间里看明题意，并答题。考前这些学员专门接受了美国RN注册护士培训机构（ATI）的在线测试，48.1的平均分数线高于美国本土47.1的平均分数线。日前，这批学员已参加CGFNS在京的首期考试，她们跨出国门参与国际间交流的日子为期不远了。结果表明：上海成人教育进修学院、上海护理学会协同美国相关机构、三家组建的美国CGFNS及RN的资格认证考试培训， 不仅充满着生命力，而且表明是上海及华东地区最权威的专业培训机构。RN/CGFNS培训，根据学员不同的英语程度，实行预科、高级二级制递进模式。教材，选用美国RN培训权威版本；CGFNS最新版本；自编辅助教材。RN/CGFNS培训时间为230学时，约为7个月。RN培训110学时（内/外/儿/母婴/精神/医学术语/药物名）；CGFNS综合模拟考试训练，120学时。教学管理：设有专职班主任；空调教室，免费供应冷热纯净水；为缺课学员提供课堂录音服务。

Shanghai Adult Education Institute

Shanghai Adult Education Institute was founded in July 1996 as a social school-running force approved by the State Education Committee. Administratively, the Institute is under the leadership of Shanghai Education Committee, and professionally, is 
superintended by Shanghai Adult Education Association. The Institute is now chaired by Director of Shanghai Adult Education 
Association, who was former Vice-chairman of Shanghai Education and Health Office and Associate Director of Shanghai Adult Education Committee. The major career of the Institute is adult higher schooling education and technical training. The present number of students at school is 1,600 or more. Most teachers have senior professional titles. Since the founding of the institute, it has developed a variety of schooling forms and various levels of educational training to meet the needs of versatile persons of the internationalized Shanghai City, on the principle of appropriating to economic construction, scientific innovation, social development and facing the market. 

To connect and communicate with international educational resources and provide training service of internationalized professionals for Shanghai, the Institute created the Department of International Exchange in 1999. Since the American CGFNS decided to establish a CGFNS qualifying examination center in Beijing China in the beginning of 2000,  USA and Shanghai Nursing Society to develop a CGFNS training program in Shanghai. The objective of the program is to upgrade the international level of the nursing force in Shanghai so that they are able to participate in international exchange. 

Knowing that the American CGFNS planned to create a CGFNS qualifying examination center in inland China, Shanghai Adult Education Institute did not hesitate to set about collecting, analyzing and studying CGFNS curricula and design training programs with the help of medical English professors from the famous medical institutions of higher learning in Shanghai, Chinese medical and nursing professors who graduated from famous schools of medicine or nursing in the U.S.A. and the U.K., and overseas senior nursing teachers who are working in Shanghai. The training program lasts about one year, covering the whole spectrum of nursing questions required by the CGFNS qualifying examination including medical, surgical care, maternal care, pediatric care and mental health care. An American RN online examination offered by ATI in October this year demonstrates an average score of 48.1 of our students receiving the training program Vs 47.1 of the local American examinees. These students took part in the first CGFNS qualifying examination on 12th November this year and are now preparing for TOEFL in the first quarter of 2004. We are expecting them to step out of China’s territory and join in the stream of international exchange in the near future.. 

The previous achievements have proved that the energetic entity composed of Shanghai Adult Education Institute, USA is the most authoritative organization of providing nurses with longitudinal training programs for CGFNS and RN examination in Shanghai and East China Area.
